Lotus Menezes is a dual-qualified corporate/commercial lawyer (Ontario and Tanzania) whose career spans private practice, in-house counsel roles, and cross-border work in the mining and natural resources sector. She began her career in Tanzania and South Africa before requalifying in Canada through Osgoode Hall Law School’s Master of Canadian Common Law program and the Law Practice Program. Lotus has held roles at leading institutions, including Blake, Cassels & Graydon LLP and Barrick Mining Corporation, where she advised on commercial contracts, procurement, governance, and securities disclosure. She now leads Lotus Menezes Law Professional Corporation, a boutique practice focused on corporate commercial work, bringing the perspective of both external and in-house counsel to support businesses with practical, business-aligned legal solutions. A committed community builder, Lotus serves on OBA Council and the Canadian Association of Black Lawyers’ executive, and actively mentors internationally trained lawyers across Ontario’s legal community.
